Choosing a suitable Steel Building structure
While constructing a Steel Building you should be well aware of the environmental factors of the region where you are going to erect the Steel Building. The purpose of a building is to protect the goods and people residing inside it and therefore the building style should always be in accordance with the environmental factors prevailing in that region. For your reference appropriate building styles suited for different weather conditions are given below:
- Earthquakes: For a region prone to earthquakes, reinforced framing structure should be used. Use of purlins and wood girts can further help in increasing the strength of the building.
- Blizzards: Always insulate your steel building against cold weather. Base moldings and closure strips if used effectively in the steel building can make the building highly resistant to blizzards.
- Typhoons: Girts and Purlins used in the construction of a steel building provides adequate protection against typhoons.
- Tornadoes: For a steel building to be able to face tornadoes, a strong siding should be used in the steel building.
- Hurricanes: In a hurricane sensitive region, prefer using steel rods instead of cables in the steel building. Use a water-proof sheeting for your steel building so that the building is adequately protected from rain water damage.
